Donations Help L&FHRF Stay Operational
Caring for horses is a most rewarding experience but one that can be financially draining. The cost associated with taking care of more than 100 horses a year is staggering. As a non-profit organization, L&FHRF relies entirely on private donations for continued operation. Please read on to learn more about making a tax-deductible contribution, donate materials or volunteer time to the Rescue.
General Supplies
Through the generous donations of items by both individuals and corporations, L&FHRF avoids spending money to buy supplies need for daily operation. Your donations save us a tremendous amount of money and allow those funds to support ongoing rescue efforts. Wish List.

Cash Contributions
By helping L&FHRF, you are helping save the life of many equines and other animals cared for at the Rescue. In particular, donations are raised for either the Slaughter/Rescue Fund or the Humane Euthanasia Fund. As an individual, you can support us with donations of cash or goods. Or as a corporate gift, your company may also find that supporting us can increase employee moral. Donate online, become a member or mail your contribution to:

In addition, general will bequests are another excellent way to make a lasting contribution to the life of a horse and our continued efforts. You can either place L&FHRF in your will as a direct beneficiary or as a contingent beneficiary, in the event an original beneficiary does not survive you. The following is an example bequest form:
"I give and bequeath to Lost and Found Horse Rescue Foundation, Inc., a non-profit corporation under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, with its principal offices presently located at 852 Valley Road, York, PA, 17402, the sum of $_______, to be used for the accomplishment of its general purposes."

Horse/Animal Donations
We currently have more than 50 horses requiring new homes. Most are sound, young horses in need of training and, of course, lots of TLC. Many of our adopted horses (link to photo gallery) are serious show competitors in the hunter and eventing fields. Rescue horses have the ability to fulfill your dreams, so come take a look because you might be surprised what a “throw-away” can do with the proper care, training and love. Donation Form.
Volunteering
The Rescue is operated by two fulltime directors and a group of dedicated volunteers with room in the ranks for many more. Doing chores around the barn is one of the most appreciated ways a person can donate the gift of time, not to mention it’s a great way to get hands-on experience caring for horses. Other ways to show your support include clerical assistance, special events planning, fund-raising, outreach programs and IT support. Become a L&FHRF volunteer.
